Director of Projects APAC

In the APAC region, we are already around 270 employees located in our 7 country offices throughout the APAC region (Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, and Australia). We have an established team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals growing our business activities by developing, constructing, and operating our renewable generation portfolio throughout the region.
Purpose: As the Director of Projects, you will play a pivotal role for all the renewable energy projects (onshore wind and solar) across the APAC Region. You will be responsible for the strategy, P&L, new business and operational efficiency, and coordination of the corporate functions (Legal, Corporate Finance, Marketing, HR, Finance, IT…)
What You Will Do

Oversee and manage all country offices in the APAC region.
Develop and execute regional Solar, Wind, Battery and Hybrid Projects business strategies to achieve the strategic and financial targets.
Oversee the execution of ongoing solar, wind, battery and Hybrid projects across the APAC region, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Provide line management and guidance to the local Managing Directors (MDs) in APAC, fostering sustainable growth of the local entities and supporting MDs in addressing key issues and risks.
Act as a signatory on all capex investments above €250K and potentially hold a Directorship position in local Holdings.
Advise on and lead initiatives in Business Development to capitalize on market opportunities, mitigate operational threats, manage business risks, and leverage the core strengths in APAC.
Build and maintain a robust network with key industry players, authorities and investors in the region and represent the Group within the assigned market through participation in exhibitions, trade fairs, industry trade organizations, etc.
Ensure strict adherence to global guidelines and best practices established by BayWa r.e. in all project development activities.
Collaborate closely with the headquarters in Munich to ensure seamless communication, alignment, and reporting on APAC projects' progress and performance.
Work with regional functional heads to manage local resources and implement global policies and strategies for each respective function.
Proactively collaborate with all corporate functions to enhance transparency, operating efficiency, and overall effectiveness.
What You Bring

University degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
A minimum of fifteen (15) years' working experience, with at least ten (10) years in the renewable energy industry in a managerial role, preferably in a matrix-organized company.
Sound knowledge of the renewable energy market and regulatory environments in the APAC region with at least 5 years of experience in the APAC region.
Ability to relate to and manage multiple stakeholders, possessing a well-established and robust network within the industry.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate coherently and clearly with staff at all levels, providing confident leadership during challenging times.
Capability to work effectively with different cultures and personalities, promoting and instilling Company values.
Ability to develop and execute strategic plans while maintaining a hands-on approach
A business mindset to align project goals with overall business objectives.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with the ability to deliver practical, effective, and sustainable solutions in a continuously changing environment, embracing change as opportunities.
Willingness to travel within the APAC region and occasionally to the headquarters in Munich.
