The Global Water and Sanitation Center (GWSC), a newly established center at AIT aims to expedite and support WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) strategy in Asia and beyond by leveraging funding from governments, international financing institutions & other development partners.
The center is hosting global water and sanitation initiatives, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, such as Technical Assistance Hub (TA Hub) - an initiative / platform to aid governments, development banks & other development partners in the planning, designing, scaling and implementation of City-wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS). The center is inviting application from the qualified candidates for the position ‘Knowledge Management Officer’.
General Job Description and Responsibilities:
KMO will be responsible for all initiatives under GWSC. Major responsibilities of KMO includes but not limited to i) discuss with each team members to identify potential items for development of knowledge products ii) develop them and disseminate them. The responsibilities are as follows,
- Capture learnings and knowledge from projects under GWSC in relation to Water Resources Management (WRM), Fecal Sludge Management (FSM), Non-Sewered Sanitation (NSS), City-wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) principles, Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) and other relevant topics in discussion with the team
- Prepare project learning presentations to disseminate learnings to other members of the Hub and its partners
- Prepare all the necessary knowledge products (flyers, journal articles, technical reports, newsletters, infographics, videos, etc.)
- Develop or provide dissemination strategies to share knowledge amongst the TA Hub networks
- Lead in developing publications and work in close coordination with communication consultant to develop them in a ready format for dissemination
- Develop strategies for cross-learning between organizations specially TA Hub Africa
- Lead in organizing events, meetings, trainings, and workshops
- Liaison with the AIT office of Public Affairs for necessary media briefings
- Dissemination of publications and briefings in timely manner
Required Qualification:
- 2-3 years of general knowledge/content management and/or research experience (e.g., within a professional services firm, academia, government, etc) with a focus on the public sector
- Master’s degree or equivalent in communications, media, public relations or related fields
- Relevant work experience in the field of public relations and corporate communications, demonstrating increasing responsibilities and knowledge, preferable in international development or a related field
