Deputy Plant Manager


 
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The Deputy Plant Manager (DPM) oversees the daily operations. He is responsible for Production, Product Quality, HSE and Process & Method. He deploys the industrial strategy defined by the Board of Directors.


Management and Leadership

  • Support the plant internal communication and ensure that necessary information is displayed to the managers and to employees (Plant performance objectives & results, roadmaps, risk mitigations etc.).
  • Enforce strict cost control management.
  • Enforce the company Performance Management System in his organization (set up KPIs and competencies, regular feedback, final assessment, career path proposition) and guarantee the respect of the HR Policy within his team.
  • Develop team’s knowledge and practices in technologies and general production management techniques.
  • Develop and encourage feedback.
  • Support Plant Manager with organization changes, yearly staffing plan and payroll budget
  • Supports the plan manager with the plant operations budget (OPEX)

Production

  • Planning, organizing, directing, and running optimum day to day operations to meet demand and customer’s expectations.
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
  • Coordinate plant activities with other Department Managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure availability and sustainability of equipment and assets.
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • In collaboration with Quality Assurance Manager, understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.
  • Report monthly the key figures of his perimeter to Plant Manager.

Process & Method

  • Study the performance of production processes in terms of productivity, capacity, quality, reliability, safety, and suggest improvements. Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
  • Recommend the various equipment & tools required to achieve objectives.
  • Drive the equipment’s installation and measure the performance.
  • Maintain operational modules (part master, bill of material, routes) in ERP.
  • Propose and implement a yearly investment plan.
  • Propose a continuous improvement plan.

Quality Control

  • Enforce quality management Systems as per Dextra Group requirements and Guidelines.
  • Maintain a zero-defect mindset and objective through best quality control practices.


Health, Safety & Environment

  • Enforce HSE standards as per Dextra Group requirements.
  • Ensure the development and execution of health & safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
  • Enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or above in engineering field and ten years of plant management experience in a manufacturing environment with sufficient general management experience.
  • With at least 10 years of experience in production management at senior role.
  • Fluent in English communication skills
  • Proficient in MS office, MS project., ERP, AutoCAD
  • Ability to understand technical drawings.
  • Understanding of common manufacturing techniques.
