Position Summary
The Assistant Manager of Visual Merchandising has the responsibility of enhancing store footfall by creatively showcasing products and merchandise based on Go-To-Market strategy. He/she reports to the Visual Merchandising Manager and is accountable for creating an appealing atmosphere in the retail store, aiming to maximize profitability. This role involves various tasks related to creating a visually pleasing environment and contributing to overall GTM strategies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the merchandising team in the development of a visual assortment strategy that is aligned to GTM/SAPAC strategy, utilizing knowledge of prior seasons’ assortment performance at retail and market/brand insights.
- Manage and collaborate with mall management and contractors throughout all stages of construction and maintenance, working closely with the constructor or general contractor. Additionally, maintain records and collect payment data to track monthly expenses accurately.
- Engage in price comparison and negotiations with suppliers to secure reasonable prices and obtain approved quotations from the manager, generating purchasing requests and orders and ensuring timely processing.
- Ensure consistency in visual presentation and themes across all stores for every visual turnover. This includes deciding on floor layouts, traffic flow, and display areas, as well as appropriately identifying products that align with the current theme and complement each other. Additionally, identify and procure props, fabrics, hardware, and lighting elements needed for the visual displays.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visual strategies and organize promotional events that are engaging, captivating, and designed to sustain the interest of the target audience and new store expansion and set up.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge about UA product collections and technologies, continuously relaying that information to UA retail employees.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Strong product knowledge, VM display/standard and store layout knowledge.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and team-working skills.
- Strong problem-solving and creativity and provide well-thought-out solutions.
- Strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work under tight timelines.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Education And / Or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, interior design, retail management or related field preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience in visual merchandising with a retail business background
- Comprehensive portfolio of relevant visual design work
